Home of Samuel H. Fyock of the Walnut Grove section of Johnstown. Daughter, Verna Fyock Krouse and niece, Norma Ream Martin are seated in the buggy. The girl holding the horse is Elma (Fyock) Strayer. The little boy is not identified, but is probably Samuel's child.

This picture is of my great aunt, Catherine O. Waltz (she is the girl with the long wild-looking hair in the front). I would like to try to find out who the other girl is. Catherine is the youngest child of John George Waltz and Margaret McGovern. John and Margaret were married at St. Bartholomew's Church in Wilmore. John was a carpenter, and the family lived in various places in Cambria and Blair Counties--that is, until John George deserted his family in the early 1900s. John and Margaret had two other children: Mamertus A. (my grandfather), and Earl Aloysius.

This is Thomas J. Byrne(s) d. 1934 in Byrnesville, near Barnesboro, and his wife Sarah Ann (Miller) Byrne(s) d. 1918. So we know the picture was taken before 1918. Anyone know who the person with the horse might be? I found too that our family named changed from Byrne to Byrnes in 1908.
