Remarks:   Lugar, Mary Gretchen, 79, Johnstown, passed away January 5, 2021 at McCullough Place. Born November 27, 1941 in Loretto, daughter of the late Dr. Henry and Velva Idzkowsky. Gretchen was very much loved by her sister Betty and brother-in-law George G. Hazlett, Jennerstown. Also survived by nephews George W. Hazlett, Johnstown; Gregory and wife, Lynn, Chesapeake, VA; and Sarah Branch, Jennerstown, as well as great-nephew Jeremy Hazlett and great-nieces Emily Branch, Jessica, Madelynn and Megan Hazlett. Gretchen was a teacher for many years at the former Meadowvale Elementary School. She loved her Golden Retriever “fur children” and gardening. She was very talented in ceramics and needlework, and made many beautiful gifts for family and friends. Gretchen’s family wishes to thank the staff of McCullough Place for their support and loving care during Gretchen’s final months. Donations in Gretchen’s memory may be made to the Cambria County Humane Society or a charity of your choice. Inurnment, Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh.
