DAVIS, David

SOURCE NOTATION:
Cambria Tribune, 10 Apr 1863, Page p3; c2, Contributed by Lynne Canterbury

Drowned. -- A Welshman, named David Davis, of Danville, Montour county, this state, while returning from the Rolling Mill on Saturday night inst., walked into the canal above the lock and was drowned. His body was recovered from the lock the next day. Davis was a stranger in town, and it is supposed he walked into the canal through ignorance of the way he was traveling. Some friends in town interested themselves in his behalf, and raised money enough by subscription to buy a coffin for the body and send his remains back to Danville, where we understand, he leaves a large family.
