South Side Resident Passes Away
After a Long Illness of a
Complication of Diseases
Simon E. Rorabaugh, a former lineman of the Bell Telephone Company, died at the Rorabaugh home, No. 738 Sherman street, South Side, early this morning, aged fifty-six years, seven months, and twenty-six days. Mr. Rorabaugh's death was due to a complication of diseases. He had been ill since last February. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, with interment in Grand-View Cemetery. The services will be conducted by the Rev. S. Mahlon Miller, pastor of the First United Brethren Church.
The deceased was born near South Fork on November 3, 1860, and was a son of John Rorabaugh, now living at Salix, and Mrs. Eva Dunmyre Rorabaugh, who died five years ago. Simon E. Rorabaugh and Miss Gertrude Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Miller, of Napoleon street, were married in Richland Township in 1883 by the Rev. John Felix, of the United Brethren Church. Mrs. Rorabaugh survives her husband with four children -- Charles S., Ralph M., Mabel E., and Katharine Rorabaugh, all at home, together with his father, a brother H. J. Rorabaugh, of Summerhill, and two sisters, Mrs. D. D. Miller, of Salix, and Mrs. W. H. Wendell, of Altoona.
