Born Nov. 2, 1921, in Barr Township, son of Jacob and Lucille (McCarty) Kirsch. Preceded in death by parents; son, Clifford Thomas; and sister, Mary Regina. Survived by wife, Susanna (Lieb) Thomas-Kirsch, and children: Virginia Thomas, married to Gerald Rosko, Mineral Point R.D.; Warren G. Thomas, married to former Candy Reams, Melbourne, Fla.; and Carolyn Kirsch, at home; also four grandchildren. Brother of Gerald Kirsch, married to Dr. Marian Westrick; Richard Kirsch; and James Kirsch, married to former Louise Born, all of Spangler R.D. 1; Camilla, wife of late William Wolf, Canton, Ohio; Lucille, wife of Joe Hoover, Hastings R.D.; Max Kirsch, married to former Geraldine Maloney, Port Charlotte, Fla.; Florentz Kirsch, married to former Anna Burley, Barnesboro R.D.; Anna Mae, wife of late Ronald Knechtel, Lakeland, Fla.; Vincent Kirsch, married to Laura Jean McAnulty, Carrolltown R.D.; Ruth, wife of Ed Born, Hastings R.D.; and Timothy, married to Norma Lou Knerler, Bloomington, Ind. Partner in Kirsch Construction for many years with his brother Gerald. Substitute teacher at Admiral Peary Vocational-Technical School, Ebensburg. Army veteran of World War II. Charter member of Spangler VFW. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown, where wake service will be held Wednesday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, the Rev. Blane Resko, OSB, pastor. Interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery, Nicktown. Military committal rites will be conducted by Spangler VFW and other local veterans organizations.
