|South Fork, Jan. 21: Richard Roberts, for 21 years a resident of this place, died Monday evening at DuBois at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Tulowski. He was aged 69 years and had been ill for a long time of asthma and other ailments. The remains were brought to South Fork yesterday afternoon and taken to the home of the deceased's son, John Roberts, on Maple Street. The funeral services will be held from the South Fork M. E. church Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. |
Mr. Roberts was a native of North Wales, where he was employed in the mines and where he was married before coming to this country, in 1884. He located in South Fork in 1893 and for some years was employed by the Stineman Coal Mining Company, retiring about 15 years ago. Mrs. Roberts died here in 1894. Surviving Mr. Roberts are the following children: John, Edward, Richard, Mrs. Edgar Hesketh, and Mrs. Ray Sackett, of this place, and Mrs. John Tulowski, of Dubois. Thomas Roberts, of Johnstown, and John Roberts, of Wales are surviving brothers.
