A BEREAVED FAMILY
Frederick Mower removed with his family from Scranton, Pa., to Cambria Borough, less than one month ago. A few days after arriving in his new home one of his children was stricken down with Diphtheria, and soon fell a victim to the ailment. Yesterday another of his little ones, aged about 6 years, also died from the same disease, and as the family are in somewhat destitute circumstances the authorities of the County Home were compelled to furnish means to pay the expenses of the funeral. The case of these strangers in one which calls for active sympathy, as they are quite poor. Mr. Mower has expended all his means in caring for these two children during their illness and in paying the burial costs of the first one. Charitable people residing in Cambria will doubtless extend the family all necessary aid at this particular juncture.
