MAYERS, John. South Fork, Jan 2, While sitting in a chair in the rooms of the Fraternal Order of Eagles here, John Mayers died suddenly about 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon of fatty degeneration of the heart. Mr. Mayers was a native of Germany and came to South Fork about five years ago. For a long time he was employed as a baker by B. L. McCahen, in this place, and before his death was a chef for the Eagles. He was thirty-two years old and unmarried. His remains were prepared for burial by Undertaker George. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of B. L. McCahen on Railroad street, and interment will follow in the South Fork Cemetery. Members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of South Fork, as well as members of sister lodges, will meet in the F.O.E. rooms here at 1:30 o'clock and will attend the funeral in a body.
