|Johnstown Tribune, 28 Aug 1902, Page 5, Contributed by Sharon Trosan|
|HARDY, Thomas Sr., a well-known South Fork miner, died suddenly at his home at 8:20 o'clock last evening from neuralgia of the heart. He was ill only about ten minutes and Dr. J. H. Glass, who was summoned, worked in vain to save him. A few minutes after her husband had passed away, Mrs. Hardy, who had been at Ebensburg attending the fair there, returned home. |
Mr. Hardy was aged about fifty-five years. He arrived at South Fork from England in 1882 and is survived by his widow and five sons and two daughters, as follows: John, of Wilmerding; Isaac, Thomas Jr., Joseph, and Harry, all at home; Elizabeth, wife of Samuel Brewer, of South Fork, and Ida, at home.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the late home of the deceased. The Rev. Mellyar Leichliter, pastor of the South Fork M. E. Church, to which Mr. Hardy belonged, will conduct services, after which interment will be made in the South Fork Cemetery.
