HOCHSTEIN, Elizabeth (Adam)

Mrs. Elizabeth Hochstein, widow of William Hochstein, died at her home, No. 513 Somerset street, Fifth Ward, at 10 o'clock Saturday night, aged sixty-six years. The deceased, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Adam, was born in Germany in January, 1839. Her parents came to America and settled in Johnstown in 1855. She and William Hochstein were united in marriage soon after the arrival of the Adam family in this city. The Hochstein family has resided on the South Side for over forty years. William Hochstein passed away in the Fifth Ward sixteen months ago. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hochstein, three of whom are dead. The living are Jacob Hochstein and Mrs. Lena Reihl, of the South Side, and Fritz Hockstein and Mrs. Dora Ransom, of Pittsburg. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock to-morrow afternoon, when her pastor, the Rev. Hugo R. Erdmann, of Zion's German Luther Church, will conduct the obsequies. The remains will be laid to rest in Sandyvale Cemetery.
