William Ribblet, aged eighty-three years, a pioneer resident of West Taylor Township, died there at 11:30 o'clock Sunday night at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Findley. Mr. Ribblet had been seriously ill for about two weeks, death being due to a complication of diseases.
The deceased was born in Fulton County. Over seventy years ago he settled in West Taylor, where he lived until the time of his death. His wife, formerly Miss Elizabeth Conner, of Cherrytree, Indiana County, died about twelve years ago. The following children survive: Benjamin F., George W., Joseph T., and Esther, wife of Frank Findley, all of West Taylor Township; Bartholomew, of Jackson Township, Caroline, wife of Randall McCrearey, of Bedford County, and Ellen, wife of George Rummel, of Maryland. William Ribblet was a devout member of the United Evangelical Church, being affiliated with the Mt. Calvary Congregation.
The Revs. Joseph Booser, of Salix, and T. L. Yoder, of Conemaugh, officiated at funeral services conducted at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the German Baptist Brethren Church on Benshoff's Hill. Interment was made In the neighboring Pleasant View Cemetery.
