Walter T. Weakland, 89, Carrolltown R.D., died Feb. 23, 1984, at Miner's Hospital, Spangler. Born Nov. 5, 1894, in East Carroll Township, son of Ambrose and Ann (Campbell) Weakland.

Preceded in death by parents; wife, former Olive M. Snyder, who died Aug. 9, 1966; daughters, Mildred, Leona and Helen; brothers, Steve, Daniel and Edwin; and sister, Gertrude. Survived by sons, Leroy, Ebensburg; Earl, Carrolltown R.D.; Paul, Fort Pierce, Fla.; and William, Patton R.D.; also seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Brother of Margaret Kirkpatrick, Carrolltown R.D., and Mary Cronauer, Baltimore, M.

Member of Elmore Local 1269 UMWA. Former director of REA, Indiana, Pa.

Friends were received Friday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Carrolltown, where scriptural wake service was held. Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Carrolltown. Interment, church cemetery.
