Remarks:   BERNARD WEAKLAND

Lt. Commander Bernard Weakland, 92, U.S. Navy retired, died May 27, 1987, in Hiram, Ga. He was a son of the late Luke and Bridget Henry Weakland and was a native of the Ebensburg area.

Commander Weakland served 32 1/2 years in the Navy between 1915 and 1947. He was the youngest and last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors include Mrs. Sunbeam S. Weakland, Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. (LaGroon) Redmond, all of Hiram; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews in this area.

Graveside services were held at the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta, Ga., with full military honors.
