Remarks:   OVERBERGER -- Dr. Charles E., 79, 1103 Chestnut Avenue, Barnesboro, died July 14, 1967, at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. Born Oct. 13, 1887, in Patton, son of John B. and Helena (Huber) Overberger. Survived by widow, former Beatrice McAnulty, and these children: Dr. Charles G., Ann Arbor, Mich.; William F., Morrisville, Pa., and Dr. James E., Chapel Hill, N.C.; also 11 grandchildren. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at James J. Long Funeral Home, Barnesboro. Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, Barnesboro, the Rev. Edward Davis. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton.

 

OVERBERGER -- Dr. Charles E., 79, 1103 Chestnut Avenue, Barnesboro, died July 14, 1967, at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. Born Oct. 13, 1887, in Patton, son of John B. and Helena (Huber) Overberger. Survived by widow, former Beatrice McAnulty, and these children: Dr. Charles G., Ann Arbor, Mich.; William F., Morrisville, Pa., and Dr. James E., Chapel Hill, N.C.; also 11 grandchildren. Practicing dentist in Barnesboro from 1915 to 1958. Served a total of 18 years on Barnesboro School Board and 12 years as a member of Cambria County Board of School Directors. A board member of the Department of Public Assistance when it was organized, and served as a director of Miners Hospital, Spangler. Veteran of World War I. Served as a first lieutenant in Army Dental Corps. Charter member of Vodzak Post 508, American Legion, Barnesboro. Served as Democratic district chairman and was a charter member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, Barnesboro. A fourth degree member and Past Grand Knight of Council 2277, Knights of Columbus, Barnesboro. Served as director of First National Bank of Barnesboro from 1927 to 1950, when he became bank president, and continued on in that capacity for 15 years, until the bank merged with the First National Bank of Ebensburg. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at James J. Long Funeral Home, Barnesboro. Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, Barnesboro, the Rev. Edward Davis. Interment, St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Patton.
