EARLY SETTLERS DIE

David L. Davis, and John Turane, of Vintondale Section Pass Away.

Vintondale, Aug 21 - Since Last evening two of the first settlers of this section of the county, David L. Davis and John Turane have died.

David L. Davis came to this region many years ago and was aged seventy-two when he died at 4:30 o'clock this morning. He had been ill for some time past and little hope had been held for his recovery. He was Road Supervisor in this district up until last year.

Isaac Davis of West Taylor Township, near Johnstown, is a son of the dead man. Isaac Davis is a blacksmith. Other children of the dead man are William J., of Blairsville; Elliot who resides near Altonna; Walker R. of Wildwood Springs; Frank and Alex C. of Maryland; Thomas H. and David T. of Nant-y-Glo; Mrs. Jennie Myers of McKeesport, and Mrs. Margaret Lambing, Mrs. Annie B. Myers, and Mrs. Niletta M. Allison of Nant-y-Glo.
