John Woelfel

John Woelfel, aged seventy-two years, died of bronchitis and asthma about 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law and duaghter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Seller, No. 119 Coal street, with whom he had made his home for some time.

Mr. Woelfel was born in Germany and came to this country about forty-six years ago, locating in Johnstown, and for many years followed the occupation of a coal miner. His wife, whose maiden name was Miss Margaret Hetzlein, died some years ago, and three of five children survive, as follows: John B., of Coal street; Mrs. Saller, mentioned above, and Mrs. Barbara Gaugler, of East End, Pittsburg. Sixteen grandchildren survive, as do two brothers and two sisters.

The deceased was a member of St. Joseph’s German Catholic Church, where funeral services were held at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning. Interment was made at Geistown.
