BODY OF WILLIAM REED IS FOUND
Summerhill Man Missing Since May 22, Hunters Find It Near Ebensburg
Ebensburg, June 22 -- The body of William Reed, aged 63 years, of Summerhill, who mysteriously disappeared from the County Home about May 22 last, was found last night in California woods, which is situated about two miles from here by two men hunting for groundhogs. The local police were notified and officials of the County Home also were notified. Although the body was badly decomposed, it was identified as that of Mr. Reed.
The body was later turned over to George Bros., undertakers of South Fork, to prepare for burial. The deceased was married and is survived by his widow and several children. There were no marks found on the body to indicated that he was murdered. Coroney [sic] M. W. Swabb, of Johnstown, will hold an inquest.
Funeral services will be held at Summerhill tomorrow and burial will take place in the Ford Cemetery.
