Death Occurs Nine Days After Death of Brother, Squire Waters, Funeral Tomorrow
Wilmore, July 19. – Mrs. Elizabeth Waters Emeigh, aged 67 years, wife of William L. Emeigh, one of the oldest and best known residents of this community, died yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Edna, wife of Emmet Gallagher, with whom Mr. & Mrs. Emeigh made their home. Her death was due to heart trouble, following an illness of about 10 months. Mrs. Emeigh’s death occurred nine days after that of her brother, the late Squire A.J. Waters, who passed away at his residence in Ebensburg, Tuesday evening, July 9. She had only returned here on Wednesday evening from Ebensburg, where she attended the Waters funeral.
The deceased was born in Ebensburg, April 21, 1851, and was a daughter of Edmund J. and Margaret Tibbott Waters, both deceased. She was united in marriage 18 November, 1881 to William L. Emeigh, who survives with three children – Mrs. Edna Gallagher, mentioned above; William H. Emeigh, of this place, and Joseph Emeigh , of the Eighth ward, Johnstown. Four children of this union are dead. Mrs. Emeigh is also survived by one sister, Margaret, widow of Martin L. Kruise, of Ebensburg, who made her home with her late brother, Squire Waters.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon from the Gallagher residence. The services will be conducted by the Rev. W. Graham Walker, pastor of the First Christian Church of Altoona. Interment will be made in the local cemetery. The deceased was a lifelong member of the Christian Church. The body has been prepared for burial by Undertakers George Brothers of South Fork.
