|Death of Winfield Reese|
Winfield Reese, a prominent resident of Johnstown, died Sunday morning last after an illness lasting five years. Over a year ago, accompanied by Mrs. Reese, he went to South Dakota in the hope of regaining his health. While there he suffered a stroke of paralysis and was brought home in a critical condition. He gradually declined until his death.
The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas T. Reese and was born near Ebensburg. Mr. Reese is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Elizabeth Humphreys of Ebensburg; a daughter and two sons. Two brothers, Joseph and Edward of Johnstown and a sister, Miss Harriett Reese of Ebensburg are living.
Mr. Reese was an active member of the Christian church and held important positions in various lodges of which he was a member.
The funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Dr. J. J. Morgan, pastor of the First Christian church, were held Tuesday afternoon, followed by interment in Grandview cemetery.
