Angus Hollis, Blandburg

Another fatal mine accident occurred Tuesday afternoon to the Upper Dean region near the Dougherty mines, Dean township, by which Angus Hollis of Blandburg, lost his life in a coal mine, owing to a fall of slate under which he was entirely covered. He had been working in a new coal mine near the old Tub Spring mill a Johnstown company operation but first reports state that Mr. Hollis was killed in the Dougherty old mines - a work abandoned in 1883 when J. W. Scott and I. W. Krizer opened another and better mine in the E vein or Moshannon coal. The body was brought to Blandburg Wednesday where his wife resides.
