Remarks:   FITT - Judith Ann (Paul), loving wife and beloved mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 1, 2008. Judith (Judy) was born in Johnstown on Sept. 24, 1942. She graduated from Johnstown Central High School, Class of 1960, and began work with the Johnstown Housing Authority. In 1964, she married Larry E, Fitt, her childhood sweetheart, and the couple was blessed with two wonderful sons, Jeffrey Allen and John Kenneth. The couple spent more than 30 years of married life in Orland Park, Ill. After her sons entered school, Judy served as a librarian and learning center aide for more than 20 years in Elementary School District 140. She served as a den leader coach in the Cub Scouts and as a scorekeeper in the Orland Youth Association. At home, she loved a broad variety of crafts, most she gave away to friends and family. She also followed their sons as they pursued musical interests (for John) and cross country and track (for Jeff). After decades of employment service, Judy and Larry decided to enjoy their retirement in the Kings Point Community of Sun City Center, Fla., where they have resided for 12 years. She had been a member of United Christian Church of Country Club Hills, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Recently, however, she transferred her membership to United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, Fla. Earlier in her life, she was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Johnstown. Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry E. Fitt; sons, Jeffrey A. (and daughter-in-law, Debra Shoemaker Fitt), Riverview, Fla., and John K. Fitt (and daughter-in-law, Deborah Chaney Fitt), Palmetto, Fla.; and her father, Virgil F. Paul (Sun City Center, Fla). She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret E. Paul, and numerous aunts and uncles with whom she was very close. Mrs. Fitt’s sisters, Doris J. Smith (and her husband, Donald W. Smith) and Linda K. Bower, and sister-in-law, Roxana J. Fitt also reside in Kings Point, Sun City Center, Fla. Mrs. Fitt also had many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews who reside throughout the United States. Interment will be in Ruskin Memorial Park Cemetery, Ruskin, Fla. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to LifePath Hospice whose dedicated employees played an important role in Judy’s care during her final months.
