Mrs Mary Shaffer Rose. The funeral of Mrs Mary Shaffer Rose, whose death occurred yesterday at the Rose home in Jackson Township will take place tomorrow afternoon. The remains will be lifted at the house at 1:30 o'clock and services will be held shortly afterward at Wesley Chapel by the Rev A. J. Cook of the seventeenth ward.
The deceased was born in Washington Township, Indiana County, 65 years ago and was married at Chambersville in 1860 to Isaac Rose, whose death occurred only last June. He served in the Civil War of the 171st Regiment, PVI. William Rose, the only son born to Mr and Mrs Rose who makes his home at the Rose homestead, is the only grandchild surviving his grandmother. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters--Thomas of Indiana, Mrs Brink of Clearfield, Mrs McCowan of Mahaffey, and a brother in the west. Mrs Rose was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and lived for many years in the vicinity of Vinco, where she was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
