Johnstown, August 28, 1864
This morning the body of Lieut. J. Speer Orr, 21st Pa. Cav., but for the last few months serving with the Potomac Army as infantry, was brought home, he having been mortally wounded in one of the late battles. He was shot through the thorax and lived but a short time. Deceased served with the 3d Pa in the three months service and with the 133d Pa. in the nine months service. He was universally esteemed by a large circle of acquaintances and hundreds are today paying the last tribute due the brave dead. His remains will be interred tomorrow.
