|Awful Death of Trainman |
Thomas Long, aged twenty-one years, early Wednesday morning fell under an engine in the yards of the Cambria Steel Company in Johnstown and was ground to pieces. He was a brakeman and some shifting was being done about 3:10 o'clock Wednesday morning. Mr. Long ran before his train, threw a switch and in attempting to step on the small platform which runs along the fender of the engine, missed his footing and fell under the wheels. His body was terribly mangled.
Thomas Long had been working for the Cambria Steel Company about ten months. He made his home with his mother, Mrs. John Long, of Morrellville. The remains were taken to the home of a brother, Stephen, in Morrellville.
