Remarks:   KIRSCH, Gerald J., 84, Northern Cambria, died Feb. 19, 2002, at UPMC Lee Regional. Born Sept. 19, 1917, in Nicktown, son of Jacob P. and Lucille (McCarty) Kirsch. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Mary Regina; brother, Irvin; first wife, Mary Grace (Bearer) Kirsch; second wife, Marian L. (Westrick) Kirsch. Survived by children: Dennis G. Kirsch and wife of (sic) Jackie of Houston, Texas; Jeffrey Kirsch and wife, Charlene, of Northern Cambria; Phillip Kirsch of San Jose Calif.; Mary Jean Kirsch of Walkersville, Md.; and Alton Kirsch and wife, Paula, of Waveland, Miss.; grandchildren: Jennifer Sarver, Derrek Kirsch, Amy Barranco, Adam Kirsch, Aleah Telek, Aaron Kirsch, Andrew Huber, and Olivia Kirsch; and great-granddaughter, Desiree Sarver. Brother of Camilla Wolf of Canton, Ohio; Richard of Northern Cambria; Lucille Hoover of Hastings; Max of Port Charlotte, Fla.; James of Northern Cambria; Florentz Kirsch of Northern Cambria; Anna Mae Knechtel of Lakeland, Fla.; Vincent of North Carolina; Ruth Born of Hastings; and Timothy of Bloomington, Ind. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. World War II Army veteran. Served three years in the 100th Infantry Division, at Fort Bragg, N.C. Former board member of Miners Hospital. Member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Holy Name Society. Honorary member of Barnesboro K of C. Former member of Advisory Board of Johnstown Bank & Trust Co. Member of Spangler American Legion. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Homes Inc., 146 N. Main St., Carrolltown, where a vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Rev. Job Foote, OSB. Committal, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers make contributions to local Cancer Society.
