George Augustine Watt, native of Chest Springs, expires in Altoona at age of 91. This aged and respected citizen of this city died at 10 o'clock Monday Morning (sic-May 22) from paralysis superinduced by diseases of old age. Two years ago he sustained a fall, the injuries leaving him an invalid. Last Friday he was stricken with paralysis and sank rapidly. Mr. Watt was born near Chest Springs, Cambria county, Nov. 23, 1819. His age at the time of his death being nearly 91 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was reared and educated in the vicinity of his home and has the distinction of having been baptized by Prince Gallitzin at Loretto. He followed the occupation of a farmer until about 20 years ago when he moved his family to this city, since then living a retired life. The deceased leaves a widow and two daughters: Mrs. Laura Keller of this city (sic-Altoona), and Mrs. Maliss Balton of Wilmington, Delaware. Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at St. John Church, interment following in Calvary cemetery.
