AMSBRY BOY DROWNS

Amsbry, May 24—Thomas St. John, seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick St. John, of this place, was drowned this morning, while playing near a small fish pond.

The little boy was about half a mile from his home, playing with a number of small companions at a little pond a short distance back of the home of James Virgin, Superintendent at this place for the Pennsylvania Coal & Coke Company. The youngster toppled into the water, which had been raised considerably by the heavy rain yesterday, and drowned before his frightened companions could secure help.
