Mrs. Sarah Ann McMullen, relict of the late Henry McMullen, died at her home in Johnstown, early last week. Her death was due to a complication of diseases, resulting from heart trouble, which set in early in January and kept her in constant suffering until death came to her relief.
Mrs. McMullen was born August 3, 1831, in Wales, and came to this country in early childhood with her parents, Griffith and Ann Owens, who settled on a farm in Cambria township, this county.
The deceased was united in marriage with Henry Alexis McMullen, September 28, 1850, in St. Michaelís church at Loretto, and for a number of years afterward resided at Ebensburg. To the union eight children were born: William H., for several years commissionersí clerk, who died May 1, 1893; Robert F., Maggie, Thomas A., and Tillie E., residing at home; Mary C., wife of Thomas J. Itell, Esq.; and Frank J., residing in Johnstown. One child, Annie, died at the age of 2 years.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Stoltz, of Carrolltown, and Elizabeth, widow of Benjamin Gilpatrick, of Deckerís Point, Indiana county. Mr. McMullen died in November, 1898.
The funeral took place Saturday morning, when after services at St. Johnís church, Johnstown, at 9 oíclock, inter- (sic) was made in the family plot in the cemetery at Geistown.
