Funeral of Little Florence Jones.
The house of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones, of this place, was made very sad on Thursday last by the sudden death of their little daughter, Florence. She was only about nineteen months old but was a lovely child and in her loss the parents have sustoined (sic) a heavy affliction. She was very cute in her ways and very pretty. All who knew her had learned to love her.
The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon. After singing and prayer in the home, the remains followed by a long procession, were taken to the Baptist church which was already filled with people. The sermon was preached by the pastor from 2 Kings IV, 26. The coffin borne by little girls dressed in white was profusely decorated with flowers, some of which were presented by the young people of the B.Y.P.U. At the grave the choir sang, “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Mr. and Mrs. Jones have our deepest sympathy. May God sustain them. M.
