D. P. Hanlon, age 49, a resident of Markhanna, was instantly killed, J.P. Myers also of Markhanna was seriously injured, and a mule was killed in a mine of the Myers Brothers, near Ashville, last Friday morning (November 12, 1909) when a portion of the roof suddenly caved in. Mr. Hanlon is survived by his wife and nine children. Mr. Myers injuries, while painful, are not considered serious.
