KVACALA, Drahotin Rev.

The Rev. Drahotin Kvacala, pastor of St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, died at noon yesterday at his home, 514 Chestnut street, Sixteenth Ward, in his 59th year. His death was due to acute brochitis. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon, the services to be conducted at the church. Eight or ten ministers are expected to come to the city and take part in the services.

The deceased was born in Hungary, where he began his theological studies. He came to the United States about 26 years ago and located at Freeland, Luzerne County. There he was married to Miss Mary Staho, who survives him. For ten years before coming to Johnstown 14 years ago the Rev. Kvacala was pastor of the Slovak Lutheran Church in Braddock. A brother of the deceased is a pofessor on theology in Russia. The Rev. Kvacala was an untiring worker for his congregation, and during his ministry here succeeded in placing its affairs on a firm financial foundation, gradually increasing the membership.
