LEFFLER, Barbara Berg

Barbara, relict of Ulrich Leffler, died at the residence of her son Charles, cor. of Bedford and Adams Sts. fourth ward, at 9 o'clock last nite. She had been sick but a few days. The deceased was born 79 years ago in Germany. Her maiden name being Barbara Berg. Sister of Mrs. Kate Troutman, Baltimore and the late Peter Berg who was the Poor Director in this county [Cambria] years ago. The Berg family came to America over a half century ago and located in Friedens, Somerset Co. where the subject of this sketch was married 1846 to Ulrich Leffler, who died in Jackson Twp. this co. [Cambria] in 1892. Mrs. Leffler was the mother of 9 children, three of whom are dead.

The living are: Elizabeth wife of Peter Stormer of Moxham; Charles referred to above; Lavina wife of William Kauffenberger of the South Side; Cyrus of Bedford St; Eli of Stantons Mill, Somerset Co.; and Mary wife of Josiah Thomas, Conemaugh Twp., Somerset Co.

The funeral will take place a 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Rev. J.I.L. Ressler, pastor of First United Brethren Church, assisted by Rev. Hetner, of 7th Ward will conduct the obsequies. Private interment will be made at a later hour in Grandview Cemetery. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical Church.
