The subject of this sketch passed away Saturday evening at his home, No. 562 Bedford street, Seventh Ward, after an illness of only a few days, of pneumonia.
George Helsel was born in the Seventh Ward on May 25, 1856, and was therefor in his forty-fourth year. He was a son of George W. and Elizabeth Helsel, deceased, and was married in this place about a score of years ago to Miss Annie L. Mackin, daughter of the late Capt. W. A. and Mrs. Sarah J. Mackin, and a sister of Mrs. Milton R. Young. He is survived by his wife and two daughters - Carrie and Maude.
The funeral took place this afternoon from the Helsel home, Rev. J. L. L. Ressler, pastor of the First United Brethren Church conducting the obsequies. Interment was made in Grandview Cemetery.
Mr. Helsel was employed in the Gautier Department of the Cambria Steel Company.
