Was Born in Morrellville Three Days Before Flood of 1889
Miss Esther May Warsing, 51, of 183 Stone Street died at 9 o'clock last evening in Mercy Hospital, where she had been a patient since last Thursday. She had been suffering of a complication of ailments for several months, but her condition did not become serious until about a week ago.
She was born in Morrellville on May 28, 1990, three days before the great flood of that year. She was a daughter of Thomas and Harriet (Rowland) Warsing, and was a lifelong resident of the Twentieth Ward. Surviving are a brother, George Warsing of 232 Lincoln Street, a sister, Mrs. Dora Berkebile of 183 Stone Street, and one six nephews.
Miss Warsing was a member of the Garfield Street Evangelical Church, where funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. Robert R. Doverspike, pastor, and Rev. J. Edgar Walter, formerly a pastor of that congregation and now located at the Conemaugh Evangelical Church. Interment in Grandview Cemetery will be directed by the John Henderson Company.
