|JOSEPH MAXELL KILLED WHEN RUN DOWN BY CARS|
Lilly Miner Met Death in Shumaker Mine; Leaves Widow and Ten Children
LILLY, Jan. 20 -- Joseph Maxwell, aged 56 years, an employee at the Shumaker coal mine, between here and Cassandra, was instantly killed late yesterday afternoon when he was run down by a trip of mine cares. The deceased was employed as a roadsman at the Shumaker mine where he worked for the past four years.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his widow and ten children-Mary, Walter, Emerson, Raymond, Lester, Thelma and Pearl, all at home; Mrs. Charles Stewart of Cassandra, Earl Maxwell of Steubenville, O.; and Roy Maxwell of Portage.
The body has been prepared for burial by Undertaker Tickerhoof. Funeral service will be held at 9 o’clock Thursday morning from St. Brigid’s Catholic Church. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
