Remarks:   WISSINGER - Merle E., 69, 519 Bedford St., Windber, died Oct. 6, 1969, at Windber Hospital. Born Feb. 24, 1900, in Scalp level, son of Robert L. and Amanda (Hershberger) Wissinger. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Hazel. Survived by widow, the former Kathryn Weir; daughter, Shirley, wife of Stanley Pitala, Fridley, Minn.; three grandchildren -- Kathy, Craig and Crissey. Brother of Mrs. Edith Phillips, Windber; Robert D., Johnstown; and Mrs. Stella Grimison-Baylor, Bethlehem, Pa. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scalp level, Johnstown Lodge 530 F & A.M.; Williamsport Consistory; Jaffa Shrine; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Good Cheer Club, Greenwood Hunting and Fishing Club. Honorary member of Scalp-Paint Fire Company. Licenses private pilot of Civil Aeronautics Administration. Retired in 1957 from Postal Services at Windber Post Office. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd G. Shank Funeral Home, Windber, where service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. D. Jackson Hockensmith. Interment, Richland Cemetery. Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
