A native of France, was born June 15, 1825, and was son of John and Agnes (Spolen) Rehr, dec. His helpmate on life's journey was Catherine Moller, and they were married in 1857 in Cambria county, Pa. She was also a native of France, born November, 1835, of parents Michael and Catherine Moller, dec. Their hearthstone has been graced with seven children, Catherine, Mary, Anna, Helen, Philema, Celia and Caroline. Comrade Rehr was 43 years of ageand had been engaged in farming when he enlisted at Harrisburg, Pa. He entered the ranks of Co. D, 75 Pa. V.I., as a private; he was ill and confined in camp hospital in Tennessee three weeks. He was always on duty with his command, taking part in all the engagements; he was honorably discharged September, 1865, at Murfreesboro, Tenn. His wife's brother Andrew, served in a Pa. Regt. His father served in the Franco-Prussian war. Comrade Rehr is a member of Capt. Jones Post, his occupation is that of a farmer, and his address is Nicktown, Pa.
Was born April 13, 1836, in Somerset county, Pa., and is the son of Frederick and Christena Resley, now dec. He was married to Josephine Sipe Jan. 29, 1857, and she died Oct. 15, 1878. Of this union six children were born, Daniel C., Samuel J., James M., Sarah, Emma and John M. He was married secondly to Mrs. Rebecca Kring, whose maiden name was Staler, July 10, 1881. Of this union there was one child, Carrie May. John D. Resley was a member of Co. E, 171 Regt. Pa. Inf. He was enrolled Oct. 24, 1862; discharged at Harrisburg, Aug. 7, 1863; re-enlisted in Co. E, 93d Regt. Pa. Vt., and served with the regiment till the close of the war, and was discharged at Washington, June 20, 1865.
Was born in Center twp., Indiana county, Pa., March 15, 1845, of parents Hugh R. and Agnes (Elgin) Rhea, no longer living. On Sept. 12, 1872, in Lewisville, Pa., he was married to Martha J. Sherry, and their hearthstone has been graced with the following children: Irvin C., Mary A., George H., James L., and Theodocia A. His wife was born May 30, 1850, in Clarksburg, Pa., of parents Christopher and Mary Sherry, both living. During the civil war his Patriotism was shown is all loyal directions. He was enrolled when 16 years of age as a private in Co. H, 103 Pa. V.I.; (the 103 and 101 Pa. Was unattached) to 5th A.C. and thence to 3 A.C. He was
