Other: Supposedly a George Anderson married a Miss Hemminger in the early 1800s in Johnstown. He later moved to Somerset County. Any help that I could get on either of these people or their ancestors would be greatly appreciated.
Other: I am a direct descendant of Eliel Benson, b. 1819 in PA. He was in the 1850 census in Conemaugh, and I assume he lived his life out in Cambria Co. My ggg gfather Eliel was married to "Mary" b. approx. 1828 in PA. I know this from seeing him and the family in the 1860, 1870 census in Cambria, and my gg gfather returning there in 1867 for the birth of his first child, a daughter -- Mary. One of his sons William, my gg gfather moved to Braddock in the 1860s and we are all descended from him. William returned to Cambria to enlist in the PA Cavalry in 1863.

My great grandfather is Walter Westover and great grandmother was Esta Brothers. My great great grandfather was John Edwin Westover. Other: "I am researching the WALTZ family in Cambria County. George M. Waltz & Catherine (Hines) Waltz came to this country from Germany. They first settled in Hollidaysburg and then around 1840 moved permanently to Chest Springs. (George & Catherine are my great great great grandparents). George & Catherine had 6 children: John, Catherine, Michael J., George M., Jacob Michael, & Matilda. Michael J. Waltz married Elizabeth Eichenlaub (my great great grandparents) and had 8 children: Michael Celestine, Catherine Cecilia, John George (twin), Mary Margaret (twin), Andrew Joseph, Ann Elizabeth, Henry Edwin, & Francis Edward. This family lived on a 97 acre farm adjoining the boro of Chest Springs. Michael and a good number of his sons were master carpenters. John George Waltz married Margaret McGovern (my great grandparents). Since Margaret's family lived in Wilmore, they were married at St. Bartholomew's Church. This couple had 3 children: Mamertus A., Earl A., and Catherine O. The family lived in Altoona, and John George worked as a carpenter. Sometime in the early 1900s John George deserted this family and started another one--without ever obtaining a divorce from my great grandmother. I have learned that he might have possibly lived in Warren, Ohio with this second family. I do not know his second wife's name, but I have learned from notations in a family bible that he had 4 children in this second family: Claire, Carl E., Harry H., and John Joseph. I would love to find out more information on this second family--or about any of my WALTZ ancestors. Please contact me if you have any photos/documents/information that you are willing to share. I have gathered a good bit of information already that I would be happy to share with you."

Other: I am looking for information on any descendants ofWilliam or Wilhelm Ksionsek or Shonsek. William was killed in the Rolling Mill Mine Explosion on July 10, 1902, and was buried at Sandyvale. He was married to Marie Superko from Nanticooke, PA. He had a daughter, Anna Auguste, born July 22, 1899 in Nanticoke, and a son, Karl Heinrich, born 1 Nov 1901, in Johnstown. Anna was baptized in St. John's German Lutheran Church in Nanticoke and Karl was baptized in the Ziol Lutheran Church in Johnstown. I am the granddaughter of William's sister, Auguste Borman, and would appreciate any information on William's family. Going through the 1910 census for Cambria, I found that Mary, wife of my Uncle Wilhelm Ksionzek/Schonsek who was killed in a mine explosion in 1902, married a John Dratwinsky and continued to live on Prosser St. until the 1930 census. I would appreciate any information anyone can give me regarding William and Mary's two children, Annie and Charles Schonsek, or John and Mary Dratwinsky's children who were William, Henry, Walter, and Edna.
