|On Saturday evening shortly after 4 o'clock, Mr. Andrew Harland, an old citizen of Cambria County, departed this life at his home, No. 118 Peter Street. |
The deceased was born in County Louth, Ireland in 1822. About thirty-five years ago he came to this country and located in this city. About five years later he was married to Miss Mary Darby, of Johnstown, who still survived him. To this union nine children were born, six of who are living and still at home: Andrew, Christ, John, Jennie, Maggie, and May.
Mr. Harland resided in Johnstown about ten years, after which he purchased a farm in Richland Township, where he lived until about three years ago, when his health began to fail. He then again returned to this city, where he has lived since. For more than a year he had been confined to his home. About five months ago he was compelled to take his bed, where he remained until death came to his relief. The deceased suffered at first with dropsy. To his afflictions was afterward added consumption.
The funeral services were conducted this morning at 9 o'clock, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery, Geistown.
