John Shatto, a well known slater, died at the Memorial Hospital at 6 o'clock last evening of appendicitis. He took sick about ten days ago and was taken to the hospital one week ago today, when he underwent an operation. The deceased was born in Bloomfield, Perry County, about forty years ago, and was a son of Dr. John Shatto and Mrs. Esther Croyle Shatto. His mother died many years ago in Perry County and his father passed away on the South Side, this city. The deceased was a brother of James and George Shatto, of Chicago; Kate, wife of James Griffith, of No. 216 Market street; Jennie, wife of Edward Comcan, of Carlisle; Rena, wife of Jacob Newander, of Findlay, O., and Frank, Harry and Charles Shatto, of this city. The remains were taken to the Griffith home on Market street this morning and the funeral took place at 4 o'clock this afternoon, with interment in Sandyvale Cemetery.
