Death of Mrs. Crook.
Susquehanna township woman expires while sitting on porch with her husband.
Mrs. Minerva Crook, age 39 years, wife of Jacob Crook, living about a mile from Emeigh Run in Susquehanna township, died suddenly at 10 p.m. last Thursday (18 May 1911) while she was sitting on the front porch of her home. As she toppled forward from her rocking chair, Mr. Crook caught her and she expired while in his arms. Death was due to heart trouble. The deceased is the daughter of Robert R. and Sarah Ashcraft Mechlin, both of whom are dead. Besides her husband, she leaves eight children: Clair, Ira, Edna, Reed, Marie, Zella, Floyd and Geraldine, all at home. Following brothers and sisters; W.W. Mechlin, Calif; J.H., Susquehanna township; Emma, Clearfield; Ira, Washington, Pa.; Annie of Susquehanna township. Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Bernard's church, Hastings, interment following in the church cemetery.
