Henry Alt, a well-known resident of Walnut Grove, was stricken with paralysis on Saturday morning and died at his home, No. 35 Plum street, at an early hour this morning, aged 66 years. The funeral will take place from the Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren on Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. W. M. Howe, of the Walnut Grove church, and the Rev. Hugo R. Erdmann, of Zion's German Lutheran Church, will be conducting the obsequies. Burial will be in Cover Hill Cemetery. Mr. Alt is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elisabetha Ludwig Alt and the following children: Mrs. Joseph Dorris, of Cover Hill; Fritz Edward Alt, of Westmoreland County; Mrs. William Schmidt, of Walnut Grove; John J., also of Walnut Grove; Catherine, wife of Elmer Marsh, of Daisytown, and Charles and William Henry, at home. Henry Alt was a member of the German Lutheran Church, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Johnstown Turnverein.
