WALTHER -- Mrs. Stella Elizabeth, 64, 341 Stonycreek St., died March 16, 1969, at Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 3, 1904, in Johnstown, daughter of George and Margaret (Maser) Christ. Preceded in death by parents, brother, Elmer, and two sisters, Helen and Elizabeth. Survived by husband, Elmer G., and these brothers and sisters: Henry, Menoher Heights; Clara, married to Lawrence Ziesman, Long Beach, Calif.; George, Struthers, Ohio; Herbert L. Somerset Pike; Irma, married to Harold Custer; Robert; and Catherine, married to Louis Luke, all of Allen Park, Mich.; Ralph, Sherman Street, and Margaret Schmidt, 341 Stonycreek St. Member of Zion Lutheran Church, White Shrine, Eastern Star, and auxiliary of Oriental Commandery 61, Knights Templar. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. William J. Welther. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.

Santo Genovese Dies

Santo T. Genovese, 39, of 534 Sherman St. died Sunday afternoon at Lee Hospital. Mr. Genovese had owned and operated the former Santo & Joe's Cafe, (article incomplete)

ROY BYERS, WIFE WILL MARK DATE

Mr. and Mrs. Roy J. Byers of Benshoff Hill, Johnstown R. D. 1, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary at an open house to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 28 in the fellowship hall at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren where they have been members for many year.

Mr. Byers is the son of George and Susanna (Stutzman) Byers. His wife, the former Lillian Carney, is the daughter of S. B. and Catherine (Stutzman) Carney. They were married Dec. 24, 1919.

The couple are the parents of four children -- George L. and Jo Ann, wife of Robert Covalt, both of Johnstown R. D. 1; and Gene and the Rev. John, both of Windber. There are 10 grandchildren.

Mr. Byers retired in 1956 after 40 years' service in the electrical department of Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp.

Mr. and Mrs. Byers are members of the Senior Citizens and Golden Age Club. Mr. Byers also is a member of the Singing Seniors. He is a veteran of overseas service in World War I.
