to Eva Berkeybile, who was born in that county, Nov. 28, 1840; her parents, no longer living, were Moses and Susannah (Fiser) Berkeybile. Six children were the issue of this marriage, William E., Susanna J., Mary, dec., John H., dec., Louisa E. and Augusta W. Comrade Coleman gave his young manhood to his country service and joined the standard Oct. 24, 186, at Harrisburg, Pa., when 32 years of age. He was enrolled as a private in Co. H, 171st Pa. Militia. In July, 1863, he was confined in hospital at Fortress Monroe, Va., one month with diarrhea. He was honorably discharged Aug. 9, 1863, at Harrisburg, Pa. His second wife had one brother in the late war, Jeremiah, who died in service. Comrade Coleman has been supervisor; he is a farmer by occupation and his address is Wilmore, Pa.

HENRY G. CONRAD

Was born near Baltimore, Md., August, 1820, and was a son of John and Mary (Small) Conrad, deceased. He was united in marriage in 1850 to Polly Settlemore, who was born in Wilmore, Pa., and passed to her just reward Nov. 13, 1896; her parents, Jacob and Mary (Hestler) Settlemore, are also deceased. Eleven children have been the issue of this marriage, John W., Andrew J., Isaac A., Robert, James, dec., Thomas, Louis, Charles A., Martha A., dec., Ella and Mary. In December, 1864, he volunteered for service at Wilmington, N. C., as a private in Co. F, 76th Pa. V. I., being then 37 years old. He was slightly injured by kick from mule, but did not enter hospital. He was detailed during his entire service as teamster, and was honorably discharged June 30, 1865, at Raleigh, N.C. His brother Joseph served in the late war and died in hospital near Washington, D.C.; his wife's brother William was also in service. Comrade Conrad has been constable two years, roadmaster, and school director three years; he is living in retirement and his postoffice address is Ashville, Pennsylvania.

ROBERT A. CONRAD

Was born Aug. 18, 1839, in Blair county, Pa., and was a son of Jonathan and Margaret (McIlvane) Conrad, deceased. June 15, 1875, he was married in Blair county, Pa., to Mary E. Walters. She was born in that county Aug. 20, 1847, a daughter of David and Johanna (Kidd) Walters, long ago deceased. Seven children have blessed this marriage, Margaret, dec., William F., Mary A., Clara J., dec., George H., Martha J., dec., and Anna L., dec. Comrade Conrad served as a private in Co. E, 84th Pa. V. I., and rendered some important service during that trying time. He had been a shoe merchant when he was enrolled Nov. 24, 1861, at Altoona, Pa., at the age
